Tucked away on Brick Lane you’ll find Suvlaki, a cosy Greek restaurant that offers up authentic cuisine in a tapas-style way.
Top tip: ask for the Naughty Corner, the best seat in the house and perfect for date night.
The drinks menu boasts beers from Greek microbreweries and for those that enjoy a lighter beer try the Fix Lager. For a more bitter taste the Nissos Pilsner is a great option. Loux Orange is the perfect soft drink choice and there is a range of red and white wine options.
Along with our drinks we ordered pita and tzatziki, a traditional dip made up of yoghurt, cucumber, garlic, salt and olive oil.
The Mediterranean Baked Feta and Courgette Fritters are a solid choice and the feta was baked to perfection. We also added the Pork Kritharaki and were not disappointed, the flavour of the pork mixed with cheese and rice was amazing.
A must try is the Suvlaki, you can opt for a selection of small ones or turn the small ones into a regular sized wraps for an extra £3. The corn fed chicken Suvlaki includes a mustard mayo which provides an excellent twist on the traditional Souvlaki. The pulled pork option includes feta and is a great second choice if going for two small Suvlaki’s.
My boyfriends sweet tooth always means dessert is a must and we chose the Chocolate Biscuit Cake to share. Coffee lovers will appreciate the flavoured ice-cream that accompanies this dessert.
The staff at Suvlaki are amazing and so welcoming..
We were there in December for my birthday but unfortunately had to leave early. The staff remembered us over two months later, gave us the best table in the house, included a candle on our dessert as a belated birthday surprise and even gave us the dessert on the house! We will definitely be back!
